What KCD is

KCD, short for Kitchen Cabinet Distributors, is a wholesale cabinet company rooted in North Carolina that serves dealers and industry professionals across the United States. It sells its cabinetry in two tiers: the Premier Series, with the Brooklyn, Shaker and Oslo lines, and the Builder Series, with the Essential line.

KCD suits homeowners who want a shaker or wood-tone kitchen from a short, clear menu of lines, with a straightforward choice between a plywood-sided box and a hybrid build.

Construction

KCD describes the two series this way:

  • Premier Series: plywood sides with solid wood doors and drawer fronts
  • Builder Series: a hybrid build with particleboard sides and solid wood doors and drawer fronts

For its Shaker line, KCD lists full overlay doors, soft-close doors and drawers, and solid wood dovetail drawers on full-extension glides, with slab or five-piece drawer fronts. KCD says cabinets it assembles are KCMA certified, and it shows CARB2 certification for its products.

Details differ between lines, so we confirm construction and hardware for the doors you choose before ordering.

Lines and colors

  • Shaker: shaker doors in colors such as Designer White, Sand, Kodiak and Moss
  • Brooklyn: a Premier Series line that includes Brooklyn Pearl
  • Oslo: wood-tone options such as Oslo Oak and Oslo Classic Walnut
  • Essential: the Builder Series line

KCD also offers glass insert styles for select Brooklyn and Shaker cabinets, custom panels and cabinet lighting.

How buying KCD through us works

  • Visit a showroom in Tysons, Manassas or Front Royal. Call ahead to confirm which KCD doors are on display.
  • We measure your room, design the layout and price it, Premier or Builder.
  • We order the cabinets and install them with our own crews.
  • Countertops are templated on the installed cabinets and cut in our own shop.

KCD cabinets are covered by the manufacturer's own warranty. Ask us for the terms.

What is the difference between KCD's Premier and Builder series?

The box. KCD says its Premier Series, which includes Brooklyn, Shaker and Oslo, has plywood sides with solid wood doors and drawer fronts. The Builder Series, the Essential line, uses a hybrid build with particleboard sides and solid wood doors and drawer fronts. If plywood sides matter to you, look at Premier; if cost comes first, we can price Builder on the same layout.

Are KCD Shaker cabinets full overlay?

Yes. KCD lists full overlay doors for its Shaker line, along with soft-close doors and drawers and solid wood dovetail drawers on full-extension glides. Drawer fronts come in slab or five-piece versions. Details differ between KCD lines, so we confirm the overlay and hardware for the exact door you choose.

Do you install KCD cabinets?

Yes. We measure the room, design the layout, order the cabinets and install them with our own crews. If the project includes countertops, our fabricators template the installed cabinets and cut the slab in our own shop, so the cabinets and tops come from one team.
