KraftMaid is a kitchen and bath cabinet brand from Cabinetworks Group, and it describes its cabinetry as semi-custom. Nothing is pre-finished and waiting on a shelf: each order is built after it is placed, and every cabinet in the order is built at the same time so the finish matches from one box to the next. KraftMaid says its cabinets are crafted in Middlefield, Ohio.

It suits homeowners who want more sizes, finishes and storage options than a stock line offers, without the cost and longer planning of fully custom cabinetry.

Construction and options

According to KraftMaid, doors, drawer fronts and face frames are made from solid milled lumber, while cabinet cases and interior shelves are medium-density fiberboard (MDF) or veneered plywood. The brand publishes separate specification books for framed, frameless and inset cabinetry. Which constructions, door styles and finishes you can choose depends on the KraftMaid product line, so we confirm the options for your layout when we price it.

The catalog includes storage accessories such as roll-out trays, pull-out wastebaskets, tiered drawer storage, drawer organizers, charging drawers, floating shelves and glass-front inserts. These are often what makes a semi-custom kitchen work better than the one it replaces.

KraftMaid or KraftMaid Vantage

KraftMaid Vantage is the version of KraftMaid sold only through independent dealers. KraftMaid says it has the same style choices and construction features, plus all-plywood construction and matching interiors on glass-door cabinets as standard. Buying KraftMaid through us

KraftMaid is not sold online or direct from the factory; you buy it through a dealer. As a dealer, we handle the whole job:

• Compare doors and finishes at our showrooms in Tysons, Manassas or Front Royal. Call ahead to check which KraftMaid samples are at the location you plan to visit.
• We measure your room, design the layout and price it in one written proposal.
• We place the order and install the cabinets with our own crews.
• If you need new countertops, our fabricators template the installed cabinets and cut the slab in our own shop.
